The skull on the left is a real fossil from the La Brea Tar Pits, now with a replica saber tooth. You can see both of these skulls at our outreach events, and you can learn more about Elio on Instragram @el_es_elio

Sea Lion Fossil Donated to the Collection

T.rex arrives at UC Davis

Following our successful Crowdfunding campaign, we have now added a replica Tyrannosaurus rex skull to our collection!  The replica is cast from the fossil "Black Beauty" (specimen number RTMP 81.6.1), which is housed at Royal Tyrrell Museum in Alberta, Canada. It is currently receiving some cosmetic touch-ups as we build a case to house the skull. It should be on display in the Earth & Physical Sciences Building by late 2024.
